I studied Marketing Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University and thoroughly enjoyed the PR module included on the course. However, since graduating I have discovered just how competitive the industry is. After being recommended Petersens PR, I was hugely grateful to be offered a two-week placement here.
During my placement I have written press releases, drafted copy for client collateral and practiced pitching stories to journalists.. I loved being given the responsibility of creating content for clients. Fortunately, I was given amazing help from Paris who showed me some previous examples.
I was also tasked with researching, planning and writing content for social media posts, as well as handling other small tasks such as updating the cuttings folder. Each one of these responsibilities have provided me with beneficial knowledge for the future.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using my creativity skills on Canva developing posts for various social media platforms and ensuring they are incorporated into the image of the brand. I believe I now possess imperative knowledge and confident to create content on channels such as Mailchimp, Sprout Social and Canva. It has been amazing to be exposed to a variety of different platforms.
I have loved learning and working with all of the team (especially Jack!) and I am so excited to have been offered a place as a full-time PR and Social Media Intern at Petersens PR.
