Prostate Cymru helpline goes live
Prostate Cymru is the leading charity in Wales dedicated to fighting all prostate diseases across the nation.
The charity receives no national or government funding and relies on the generosity of its fundraisers and volunteers to help fulfil their key aims, which include raising awareness, promoting understanding, and the funding the latest medical equipment and training of healthcare professionals.
Through the continued support received through public donation, Prostate Cymru have launched their new telephone helpline. The helpline, manned by specialist nurse Gaynor Newton, provides invaluable expert advice, along with a listening ear to those in need. The free phone number, 08000 470200, is manned between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm from Monday to Friday.
The helpline service has been installed by Cwmbran based telecommunications provider, RPS Technology Solutions. RPS are Wales’ premier Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP), pioneering with hosted voice over IP telecoms solutions. RPS have a commitment to aiding Prostate Cymru, having previously assisted by installing their telecommunications solutions to the charity’s office in Cardiff.
In March, they announced Prostate Cymru as their chosen charity and have committed ever since to supporting them with the vital work they undertake, completing a number of fundraising activities and challenges.
Owen Pugsley, Corporate Events and Marketing Executive at Prostate Cymru, said: “We are extremely grateful for the work that RPS Technology Solutions have done to assist our charity, their latest effort is going to benefit Prostate Cymru massively because it means we can now have a solution in place that allows Welsh men to contact and speak to a specialist nurse regarding their queries and issues relating to their disease.”
